11 Year 9 students completed their Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition. They began on the north Norfolk coast and walked from Cley-on Sea to Breck Farm campsite, through Kelling Heath. Here, students put up their tents and cooked a hot meal for themselves, then indulging in games of Cricket, Rounders, hide-and-seek and Uno with staff before 'lights out' at 9.30pm. An hour later and students were asleep. Despite some rain in the early hours, students were up early around 7.30am with some cooking breakfast. The Day 2 walk went from the Felbrigg Hall estate along the Weavers Way to Alby. The only hiccup along the way was a close encounter with a herd of cows, who took a liking to us, but seemed more interested in slobbering all over the student's rucksacks. Overall, across the two days, students demonstrated improving navigation and teamwork showing resilience despite being exhausted. They will be completing their qualifying expedition on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th July.
